Arizona Elk Hunting, Mule Deer Hunting and more

Wilderness Hunting outfitter Rob Hardy a licensed hunting guide and hunting outfitter in Arizona, offers quality Guided mule deer hunting expeditions into some of Arizona’s most beautiful and most primitive deer hunting regions.  There are three species of deer to choose from: Rocky Mountain mule deer, Sonoran mule deer and Coues whitetail deer.  The specialty is backpack hunting for truly large deer, but four-wheel-drive access tent-camp hunts and hotel-based hunts are also available.  The various hunts are all-inclusive from Phoenix, Arizona and this includes transportation to/from the field, full service guiding, accommodation when in the field, meals while in the field, trophy/meat care and personal assistance when preparing for your hunt.  Hunts are typically nine (9) days duration, but shorter duration hunts and longer duration hunts can be arranged.  One-on-one (hunter:guide ratio) hunts are generally the case, but two-on-one (hunters:guide ratio)  hunts are available or can be arranged.  All hunts are personally guided by the outfitter.  Rifle hunts, muzzleloader hunts and archery only hunts are available.  Youth hunters are welcomed. Arizona archery elk hunting is by far the best chance to acquirer an Arizona elk hunting permit.

Firearms mule deer seasons typically occur during November.  Archery mule deer seasons generally occur in December and January.  January archery mule deer hunts can be combined with javelina.  Firearms deer hunts are by limited-entry draw permit.  Depending on unit and specie of mule deer, the odds to draw a firearms permit are 10% to 70%.  However, some of the so-called “premier” mule deer units have less than 5% draw odds.  Regardless, large mule deer inhabit every hunting unit within the state.  Archery mule deer tags are generally issued over-the-counter at any license vendor, so obtaining an archery only tag is a relatively simple and assured procedure.

Arizona is blessed with THREE sub-species of Mule Deer:

Sonoran, Chihuahuan and Rocky Mountain.

It's the only place in the World where three (3) different species of North American Mule Deer exist.

Firearms Coues whitetail deer hunts typically occur during November and December. Archery Coues whitetail deer hunts generally occur in December and January. January archery Coues whitetail hunts can be combined with javelina. Firearms Coues whitetail hunts are by limited-entry draw permit. Depending on unit and month, the odds to draw a firearms permit are 10% to 100%. Some of the so-called “premier” Coues deer firearms hunts have less than 5% draw odds. However, extremely large Coues deer can be killed during any hunt, regardless of timing or unit. All archery Coues deer tags are issued over-the-counter and are thereby easy to obtain. Again, extraordinarily large Coues bucks can be found and killed during any hunt, regardless of timing and/or the unit.

Physical Difficulty Rating: Hunters can choose an Arizona hunt that's either super-easy or super-strenuous, or any level of difficulty in between. This concept applies to Rocky Mountain elk, Rocky Mountain mule deer, Sonoran mule deer and/or Coues whitetail deer. All hunts are custom-tailored to a hunter's physical ability and a hunter's expectation. Most hunters choose a semi-remote, four-wheel-drive access, tent-camp accommodation. But, cabin-based and hotel-based hunts are also available. Extreme backpack hunts are available for those hunters who wish to access super-remote locations that offer a wilderness hunting experience.

JUST A LITTLE TASTE OF OUR SCOUTING FOR YOU

My name is Randy Hoch and I did a hunt with Rob:

ARIZONA COUES DEER HUNT

I started out with Rob Harding by looking in to a grizzly bear hunt. Finding out the cold weather I would have to endure I decided not to do that hunt. He then suggested the Coues deer hunt in Arizona. I put in for the draw & was successful. What I like about Rob he is a 1 man operation. I was always dealing with him & no one else. The hunt was everything he said it would be. You can be assured he knows his animals & the hunting area where we hunted.

I took an 18" buck on the 2nd day. We saw a lot of buck in the 2 days hunting. He was very accommodating in regards to how you like to hunt and he also respects your physical condition & ability to hunt.

Over the years, I have hunted with many outfitters & guides. I can assure you Rob's #1 concern is for your safety & respects the land owner & the Fish & Game regulations.

The camp meals are different every day. The sleeping arrangement could not have been more comfortable. I plan to do many other hunts with him if I can draw the tags.

Happy Hunting!
